A Value of Interning

Published by Jason Feinberg at 7:23 am under General Music Business

A significant value of being an intern:

Seeing the acceptable difference between what your boss says and what your boss does.

Quite often they aren’t identical, but the difference is essential to conduct day-to-day biz.

As far as interning in the music industry, from my experience so far, it’s vital to find an environment that allows you to learn! Sitting in an office stuffing envelopes all day with no chance to see the shape of the bigger picture is rarely going to be a profitable situation. Although most internships will require such tasks at some point, I think the key is interning in an environment that allows maximum interaction with those at a higher level, to create not only a learning opportunity in numerous areas but a networking opportunity too that will allow potential to shine.
